Information for Volunteers

What do volunteers do?

  • Monday afternoon:Ā Ā Volunteers make boxes and prepare double bags.
  • Tuesday morning
    • Early in the morning, inside volunteers put food in boxes, bag cans, and make other preparations for the 11 am to 12:30 distribution.
    • Shortly before the distribution, outside volunteers configure the parking lot for three lines of cars and direct traffic when clients arrive.
    • Other outside volunteers put the food boxes and bags in the trunks or on seats of cars as directed by clients.
  • Tuesday afternoon: Volunteers set up tables for the indoor distribution from 5 – 6:30 pm.NOTE: The table belowĀ  on the right lists times, tasks, and number of volunteers needed for each task.
All volunteers need to sign up for a task on SignUp Genius via an email sent out each week.

How do I become a volunteer?

Follow these steps to become a volunteer:

  1. Click here to print or download the Bag ‘N Hand Pantry Volunteer Form.
  2. Enter the requested information on page 1.
  3. Read pages 2 and 3, and then sign and print your name and enter the date.
  4. Submit the completed document and submit it to the pantry either by emailing the PDF to bagnhandpantry@hotmail.com, or bring it to the pantry on a Tuesday.

You will then be added to our SignUpGenius mailing list and after that you will receive weekly invitations and a link to sign up in the available slots.

All volunteers are required to take Food-Safety Training, and those doing registration must also take Civil-Rights Training. Presentations and quizzes are available on the SignUp Genius page.
